I will fight to protect our greenspaces and fantastic trails from overdevelopment here in the 25th LD, specifically working against warehouse development and any future Pierce County airport proposals. When elected I will advocate for walkable communities and continue to speed up implementation of the state’s active transportation plan. I would love to see Puyallup have a fully pedestrianized downtown which would be better for business and our environment.

The greatest challenge to protecting our environment in my community is ensuring that our environmental transition is equitable. My community’s people are hard-working, and transitioning to a more climate-friendly environment must create job opportunities, not destroy them. As an elected official, I will advocate for working-class communities to have a seat at the table when discussing climate policy. We need to transition to renewable energy and nuclear energy. I will advocate for public transportation and dense community planning to reduce our carbon footprint. Washington has immense environmental beauty and diversity. We cannot let it be destroyed by bad actors who are more concerned with their bottom line than the health of their community.
